Dental Implantology
WHAT IS AN IMPLANT?
In general, implants, which are a type of screw in the jawbone on which the “new”tooth sits, are placed when a tooth is missing (due to a disease or a traumatism) or when a natural one must be removed (due to an extensive destruction of the tooth by caries) and must be replaced for an artificial one.
Is it noticeable or visible that you are carrying one or more?
No, implants are not visible. Furthermore, the artificial teeth that are placed over them are designed to look natural and unique to the person who has them.
Do these teeth last forever?
Not necessarily, it may happen that the implant moves if it has not integrated well into the bone and gum. In this case, it must be removed and the specialist will assess whether another one can be placed.
